PLC gateway
It brings to FredAlarm the information that travels through the electrical installation.
What does it contribute?
Receives communications from PLC monitors and links them to the FredAlarm platform. It allows you to take advantage of the electrical installation to connect supervision points without a new communications line.
Where does it fit?
Basements and other areas with electrical power where it is interesting to connect the monitors taking advantage of the existing wiring.
The electrical installation as a data network
The gateway receives information from the PLC monitors through the existing electrical wiring and takes it to FredAlarm. Reduces the need for new communications lines, especially in basements and areas where carrying a cable is difficult.
A mesh network that links equipment
Nodes can repeat messages and form hop routes to the gateway. The discovery and maintenance of routes makes it possible to bring together points that do not have a direct link between each other.
Message management and adaptation and retry mechanisms help maintain communication in an environment where loads and noise can vary.
Communication between phases
The network can link equipment located in different phases within the same electrical installation, according to its conditions. This expands the building's monitoring options without limiting all points to a single phase.
From the local network to the cloud
The gateway integrates the network of equipment on the route to the platform. Sending to the cloud uses MQTT and an encrypted connection, using TLS or VPN depending on the gateway. The client consults the information using HTTPS.
